Student Poster Session Guidelines
The Student Posters will be visited by many attendees at the conference. Thus, it is important that your poster is clear, concise, and well laid out for maximum impact.

Poster Preparation
1. A tack board approximately 4 ft (1.2 m) high and 8 ft (2.4 m) wide will be provided (boards will be set in pods).
2. ASNE will provide a sign in the upper left-hand corner that displays your name and affiliation (these will be taken from your submission). Please take this into account when planning the layout of your poster. There can be only one primary student author per poster (that is, only one student is eligible to present a poster or receive a prize).
3. The title of your poster should be in lettering at least 1 in (2.5 cm) tall. Your name and affiliation do not have to be added if you do not wish, as these will be on the board provided.
4. Your poster should include a clear statement of the problem you area addressing, essential experimental details, key results, and a simple summary and conclusions.
5. Text should be minimized as few judges or attendees will have time to read many details. The lettering should be large enough to be legible at 5 ft (1.5 m). Commercial names and trade names may not be used throughout the text. Use a generic term to describe any commercial product utilized/investigated.
6. Figures and tables should be large and clear.
7. Posters should be self-explanatory; they should not require additional verbal explanations.
8. Figures and tables should be large and clear.
9. Posters will be judged on technical content, use of scientific method, potential impact on the corrosion community, novelty of approach, the esthetic quality of the poster, and the verbal presentation. The use of expensive and elaborate materials is discouraged.

At the Conference
1. The poster area will be open for setup between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Your poster position will be clearly identified with your name and affiliation. The posters will be placed in the exhibit hall where the opening reception and all breaks will be held.
2. You must be present at your poster on Wednesday, June 21 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. during the opening of the exhibit hall for the judging evaluation process. Please try to attend your poster during normal coffee and lunch breaks during the rest of the week so that you can explain your project and interact with the 2017 MegaRust Conference.
3. The judges are being asked to interview each one of you during the times listed above. This step is intended to test your depth of knowledge and give you experience in speaking about your work.
4. Please be prepared to give an overview of your poster in 1-2 minutes.
If you have any questions, please email Kendra Newman at ASNE headquarters: knewman@navalengineers.org, 202-769-2876. Thank you and good luck!
