Course Description:
- Introduction to the Iron Dome for America Executive Order is a 2-hour virtual seminar that provides participants an overview and a deeper understanding of the new missile defense policy announced in the Executive Order as well as associated technical challenges and technological paths to implement the order. This professional development seminar is appropriate for the technical and engineering community, government, small businesses, and managers and project managers of large companies involved in missile defense, or desiring to become involved in missile defense.
- The seminar will use history and heritage to advance participant understanding and context, connecting previous missile defense efforts – from President Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative to more recent ‘underlayer’ efforts – to the Executive Order, the Missile Defense Agency’s Request for Information, and the Space Development Agency’s Broad Area Announcement.
- The seminar is structured to journey through the Executive Order, reviewing current missile threats, new policy, implementation of missile defense initiatives, integration challenges, the role of space systems, a review of potential space systems, fire control implications, command and control, and international considerations for advancing missile defense.
- This context-delivered approach improves the general knowledge and context required to effectively engineer a complex missile defense system to meet new threat requirements in the Iron Dome for America Executive Order.
